A Self Cleaning Toilet Seat

Aren't the names that marketing people give to products interesting? Sometimes it's simply a word that suggests the sort of product you're talking about (say, "anorexia" and "weight loss"), which has been altered either by adding or dropping an ending to give it that consumerism sort of vibe. That's why you have a weight loss product called Anorex. <sad smile>

This entry is not about weight loss, or why it is wrong in so many ways to have a product named after autostarvation. This entry is about something much more appealing than that - toilets. LOL Specifically, toilets that clean themselves.

The marketing people have employed all of their clever marketing magic to come up with the name Hygiseat for this 'incredible' breakthrough in human cleanliness. (See? Marrying  "hygiene" and "toilet seat" makes all other explanation unnecessary. LOL The American public loves that sort of thing.)

Here is how it works. No more than 12 seconds after the user gets up, the seat rotates under a cleaner that "washes, disinfects and dries" the seat. You can also start the process by moving your hand under the sensor. Cool, huh?

The site also says, "NEW: Pre-use spray of the bowl with blue foaming cleanser of user arrival in the bowl". I tried reading it while holding the computer upside-down, but it doesn't make sense that way, either. :-) What is Spray of the Bowl? Is that like Hair of the Dog? And do I have to actually get into the bowl to use it?

All in all, it sounds like a pretty good idea. Less close inspection of the toilet seat before making yourself comfy and grabbing something out of the magazine rack. It doesn't, however, address the problem of guys, who don't generally sit on toilet seats and who may not remember to wave their hand in front of the sensor either. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. There is one seriously cool thing about these toilets I have not yet mentioned.

One of them is orange and blue.
