Chocolate-Covered Espresso Beans In A Battery
I've eaten plenty of these things in various malls throughout the country. They tend to appear in candy stores and coffee shops, or in random deserted corridors on Alpha Centauri. If you can stand the calories of severely chocolate-coated coffee beans, they will give you quite a jolt of caffeine. They taste really, really good, too. If you like bitter coffee and bitter chocolate with just enough sweet to make the experience special, then you will love these things.
What makes it so weird and cool is that these beans come in a little battery-shaped container and are called chargers.
You know that half the fun of eating candy is, well, the fun of eating candy. Most candy doesn't really taste all that good anyway. Remember gum cigarettes? Those things were horrible, but we kids loved them because they were a little taboo. The same thing happens with gummy worms. Those things are atrocious, and I love them. Chocolate-covered coffee beans, on the other hand, are ridiculously good. Put them in a fun little container and they're unstoppable.
Did we mention that they're espresso beans? Yum.
A great use for these would be gifts for yourself and your coworkers if you know you're all about to pull an extra-long shift. Candy helps. Caffeine is a must. Besides, there is nothing funnier than a bunch of punch-drunk, caffeine-filled journalists trying to make sense of the English language sometime after midnight.
There are a million and one situations for these things, and I'm sure you can think of a few more, especially if you're a nightshift worker or a babysitter. Be prepared to have an active evening and explain to bedraggled parents why their kids are hanging from the chandeliers. Especially if they don't actually have chandeliers.
