Earthships, dude. They're cool. You can save the Earth by recycling stinky, dead tires into your walls for insulation. You can save your pocketbook by capturing and recycling your own water and never having to turn on heating or AC. (Because the "Earth" part of the "Earthship" stays at a nice, even temperature.) You can do anything with an earthship!

(Which is why the government probably won't let you have one. But it's fun to think about anyway, isn't it?)

And, they're interesting-looking, which is probably their most important feature. Who really cares about saving the world anyway? We're a selfish race. They can be pretty!

If you can dream up a floor plan, you can have it. Hobbit hole, spaceship, cabin in the woods. If you want a giant tree growing right smack up out of your living room, you can have it. Besides, they've made up a really cool new word. Biotecture. Cool.
