Liability Waivers?
This just seems a little over-the-top to me! If you've ever worried about law-suits from Halloween candy or an obesity lawsuit from your in-laws this thanksgiving, this online site offers liability waivers of every kind.
I don't know about you, but if someone presented me with a liability waiver before my meal, I'd be reluctant to eat! Would it be wrong to say that these people are paranoid?
An obesity lawsuit is highly unusual, but it can happen! Serving someone unwanted portions at supper, cooking with products that are high in saturated fats, and friendly 'eat more' gestures - can make you liable for an obesity lawsuit. As ridiculous as it sounds, this scenario has happened many times.
What about Halloween Candy? Hypothetical situation: You give out a candy bar that contains peanuts this year. Little Johnny comes by, accepts the candy, and eats it. An hour later, little Johnny has to be hospitalized because he's allergic to peanuts.
Who's fault is it? It's certainly not yours - and this is where liability waivers come in to prove it [Can you imagine having every trick or treater sign a liability waiver?]
In this day and age, everyone has to use caution when dealing with others. Nevertheless, liability waivers for every type of human interaction can be misconstrued as paranoia.
This has to be one of the most unusual online sites. The name suggests that it provides freedom for consumers. It really doesn't seem that way, does it? Maybe they should have called it 'free from dumb lawsuits'.
