Mechanical Glasses Great for Reading Sci-Fi and Comix
The next time you go roaming around in Jules Verne's novels, make sure you are dressed properly. Specifically, make sure you have the right spectacles, like these mechanical glasses. They may not be bronze, but they look bronze. It's a nice color to wear when you're going steampunk.
If you're a Doctor Who fan, these glasses really smack of the 8th Doc's movie. (I know, I know, the movie's a sacrilege, but it looks pretty cool if you pretend it isn't supposed to be Doctor Who and you don't listen to any of the dialogue or watch any of the action.)
These are basically mechanical glasses. They fold up, but not very tightly. You'll just have to make room for them, though, due to the extreme geek-cool factor.
What? You say you won't be caught dead in a steampunk novel? You won't be saying that for long, because steampunk settings are very busy, which makes them excellent places to hide from the Joker (of Batman…as IF) after you've managed to tee him off with unflattering message board comments on his touristwear in "The Killing Joke". Oh wait, that's me. Never mind. Give me the glasses.
There are other cool specs by the same designer as well. One set, also bronze-colored, is kind of…indescribable. Let's just say that if the steampunk hideout thing doesn't work, and you get hauled off to Gotham City, wear these. You'll fit right in and look really cool besides.
Yes, you need to look fashionable even if you find yourself captured by one of the most infamous super villains of all time. One must look good on the torture rack - although I'm not quite up on the etiquette of looking snappier than the guy making you scream. Might have to consult Ms. Post on that one.
