Moms Make Good Money?

We've had some interesting people looking out at us from our money. I mean, here in America we've had Thomas Jefferson, botanist and plantation owner, the ever supposedly honest Abe Lincoln, and, of course, the charming George Washington staring out at us every time we open our wallets.

But who ever got their picture printed on money for being a good mom?

Apparently, Korea is doing just that. Their new bill coming out will feature Shin Saimdang, who's contribution to history is apparently a famous scholar and some nice paintings. It was Korea's great chance to show how modern they are, how much they have progressed in their thought and treatment of women, and who do they choose? A good wife and mom.

While firefighters watch over a sleeping city, who watches over those heros? Fireman angels, of course! Show your hero you care with fireman angels that guard him while he works. Honor those who risk their lives so that you can feel safe every night.

While having good wives and mothers is vitally important to the running of any nation, state, tribe or family, it's not a very progressive view for a country that has a history of oppressing, well, just about everybody. Usually the women that get on money were queens, which I suppose is just a larger version of a good wife and mother, so I can't really say that Korea is behind anyone else, but did they really have to make it so obvious?

Oh well. At least they acknowledged a woman for doing one of the hardest jobs in human history.
