Boxers and Socks

What do you do about that man in your life who doesn't want to venture out to upgrade his boxers, briefs, or sock collection?

You let the undergarments or socks venture out to meet him.

It's an interesting twist on a subscription type gift - you do it with magazines - why not give a gift subscription to MonthlySocks or MonthlyBoxers.

Eliminate the hassle men feel subjected too when it comes to clothes and clothing accessory shopping. To most men, having to take time to shop for these items is equivalent to getting a root canal. Why not extend to them one of these gift subscriptions, or both. One company runs both of these online shops.

How does this all work? First off, you purchase a subscription plan for that man in your life. There are different subscriptions available. You can buy a plan where that special someone receives one pair of socks or one pair of brief's a month. You can also buy a 'one-pair every two-months' subscription, or a 'two-pair every three months' subscription. The best deal pricewise, on either site, is their one-year subscription, 12-pairs a year.

How's that for a gift that continues to give and give. You can purchase a subscription to get that special someone started on a wardrobe enhancement. They can choose whether to continue with it sometime down the road. In the meantime, you've done your part to help them re-fashion themselves.

The socks website offers socks that are of one style, in two sizes, in three colors; there are four subscription plans.

The boxers' website offers two styles, three colors, in four sizes; there are five subscription plans.

When shopping on the site you have the option of purchasing a gift subscription for someone by clicking on the 'Give a Gift' button, which leads you through the shopping process. Of course, if you're a man you can always by a gift for yourself, although women are the main clients of these two online shops. They see it as a practical, thoughtful, and needed gift for the men in their lives.

It's a cool alternative to the usual department store gift cards. Here the person receives the gift without having to do the in-store shopping. When you fill out the gift subscription, you specify their size, style, color, and frequency of delivery. They sit back, do nothing, and wait to receive them at the front door.

A subscription to one of these services is a gift that gives, while requiring zero effort on the part of the receiver.

It's exactly what most men need when it comes to shopping for boxers and socks.

Kubb: A Great Game of Strategy, Skill, and Luck

Kubb is a simple, fun, and exciting outdoor game of strategy, skill, and luck that will give you and your family hours of backyard fun.  Never heard of Kubb?  Well, that’s because it’s a very popular Swedish game that is just now making its way into the hearts of Europeans, Asians, and Americans alike.

Legend has it that Kubb was created by the Vikings who would make their own Kubb sets out of the skulls and bones of their bloody victims!  While this is most certainly an over exaggeration, it is true that today Kubb is one of the most popular outdoor games in Sweden.  In fact, the Kubb World Championship Tournament is held each August on the tiny Swedish island of Gotland.

Kubb consists of one king, four corner markers, six throwing batons, and ten blocks.  The playing area is set up on any flat, soft surface, such as grass, dirt, or sand.  The playing field is approximately 10 by 20 feet, indicated by the four corner markers.  The king is set up in the center of the field and five Kubb blocks are lined up on opposite ends of the playing field.  Two teams of one or more can play Kubb as each side takes turns throwing the batons across the field.  The goal is to knock over the blocks on the other team’s side and eventually the king.

While the game is simple enough to learn, it is very difficult to master.  However, the great thing about Kubb is that it can be played by both children and adults together because special handicaps can be applied to equalize age or skill differences.  Kubb is super fun to play and soon you will find yourself wanting to set up Kubb matches at every family gathering or with friends at the park because once you start playing you just can’t seem to stop!

Give Him (or Her) a Hand

Need a hand serving drinks at the next party you throw? Do you find you're running back and forth looking after your guests needs? Why not make use of a Drink Butler. Now you no longer have to say, "I only have two hands" because you will have a third one with this unique little item to help you out!

It's the size of a normal human hand and retails for $20. It's a great novelty item for a bar and a conversation starter if you send it down the bar top towards guests who don't really know each other. They can laugh and chat it up and who knows, it may be what ignites the beginnings of a beautiful relationship.

Round out your western decor with these fantastic cowboy curtains!

The hand unit weighs a pound and is made of flexible rubber. You place the drink in the palm of it and a motorized device built into it sends it on its journey to relinquish someone's thirst. Its selling point is that it won't break a glass and won't plunge off the end of a countertop into no man's land below. There is a sensing mechanism, which prevents the device from falling off when it reaches the end of a bar top or table top.

Its uses are not limited to serving drinks at a party however. This mini-butler can pass any hand-sized item along a table at dinnertime. Place items such as salt, pepper, butter packets, mustard and the like, on the hand and give them the ride of their life.

Make dinnertime fun for the kids, especially if they won't eat their Brussels sprouts. Put a few of them in a small saucer and send them to that finicky child to encourage them to eat. They may be caught up in the fun and forget about the fact they're eating something green and healthy.

Of course, you can use the product for non-human uses as well. Buy one for your dog. Put a treat on and send it across the floor to your pet. Make the food enticing though, so they don't end up tossing it off and eating the butler's hand.

Consider a non-food use. When playing a board game use the butler as a mechanism to pass the dice to the person sitting across from you. It gives you a chance to contemplate your next move, take a sip, or grab a snack handful as they wait for the dice to get to them. Sometimes it's all in the strategy and buying you some time when playing a board game!

The Drink Butler is a fun thing to have at a social gathering. As a drink transportation device, it serves its purpose well. Remember, though, you can do so many other things with this device. Hey, you might even want to send your significant other a 'hand delivered' note by it- telling them you love them from across the room.
